The cheekie chappie is on the run; he's becoming hysterical. Of course, time is running out for the good doctor Fitzpatrick. Give it another decade and he'll be up in front of the GMC for writing that sort of crap - if the GMC is still alive of course.

For someone who writes about MMR with alacrity, I notice Fitz did not make any mention of the Poling case. For some reason the words ostrich, head and sand spring to mind.

I suspect the GMC is dying a slow, lingering death from measles encephalitis despite the religious promotion of all things vaccinatory.

PS. I've been a GP for 25 years and haven't seen anyone with measles for 22 years - the GMC excepted. Why does Michael Fitzpatrick have all the luck?

PPS. I tell a lie: I did see a child with a measly rash back in 1993 or thereabouts - ten days after the MMR.

For what it is worth, my open letter to the Health Secretary about measles data:

http://www.theoneclickgroup.co.uk/news.php?start=1960&end=1980&view=yes&id=2348#newspost

Extraordinary that there should be 400 cases out of 1000 nationally in Hackney, but the issue of vaccination status does not leave a clear cut picture. The more serious issue is not the measles but the living conditions of the affected populations.

Your letter is brilliant John, sorry I missed you and never had a chance to talk to you at the GMC. I suppose we were both very busy. It was great to see Louise and the rest of the gang though.

Fitzpatrick refers to "sleazy" private clinics. I've never been anything other than an NHS pauper, but my guess would be that private clinics would be far from sleazy. This is another reason why Fitzpatrick should not let his mouth run away with him.

A second thought - about the reference to Boris Johnson backing the vaccination programme - what experience/knowledge does Boris have? Does he even have any children? I suspect it's a case of us peasants not knowing what's good for us - "Let them eat cake".

Dr Anthony Cox, a blogging vaccinator from the West Midlands is promoting a vote for Boris on his willing vaccinatory ticket - even though Dr Cox really fancies himself as a righteous, right thinking, cycling socialist. Tony Cox, like Dr Fitzpatrick, is the archetypal pantomine vaccinator; you really have to larf.

Boris does have children. I wrote to him once about a Telegraph piece, however, and got a nonsensical reply. I am not sure why Fitz is so bothered about Livingstone, who disappeared into the night with the Deer allegations back in 2004.

As they are so keen to be 'fleeced' by the pharmaceutical industry, may be they fell for an April Fool joke and followed each other over to France for their life saving inoculations...
Bar bar baar ?!!
