Hi everyone,
I'm a mum of a 14 month old girl, have just said no to the first "offer" of an MMR jab as had real concerns there was no smoke without fire.
Having researched the whole subject online, I now have serious doubts about the safety of MMR... but also am worried about single vaccinations...
A question to the jabs org: do you know of any cases of people who believe their children were damaged in a similar way by the single vaccinations?
I am worried about the measles vaccine in particular.... it being measles that was found in the gut of the children in the original study...
Thanks

| Thanks for the info. This is pretty scary stuff. It's so hard to know what's the right thing to do. I wouldn't be able to live with myself if I made the wrong choice for her. As an eczema sufferer with a sensitivity to eggs I feel she would be more likely than most to have a reaction.... and then you see all the coverage about a measles epidemic, even on BBC News Online, with scaremongering and sensationalist images of children in agony just to put the pressure on. |

Ambient Mum,
In response to your comment above regarding your daughter's sensitivity to eggs here is some information for you to read about food allergies & vaccines, including the possibility that a child with food allergies could experience anaphylaxis as a result of receiving a vaccination.
Food Allergies and Vaccines
" Millions of routine childhood vaccinations are given every year in the United States; allergic reactions from these vaccines are extremely rare. However, some people with certain food allergies may be at higher risk for allergic reactions as a result of vaccines containing certain food proteins. Up to 8% of children suffer from food allergies, with egg being one of the most common foods to which children are allergic. Many routine childhood immunizations contain traces of egg protein or other food ingredients. As a result, there is the possibility that a child with food allergies will experience anaphylaxis (a severe allergic reaction) as a result of receiving a vaccination.
The following foods are present in small amounts in routine childhood vaccines; other non-routine vaccines containing food proteins are also listed.
Egg
Children with egg allergy present the biggest concern when receiving childhood vaccines. The following routine childhood immunizations may contain egg or egg-related proteins: influenza (flu) and measles-mumps-rubella (MMR) vaccines. In addition, the following non-routine vaccines contain egg protein: yellow fever and typhoid vaccines." Continued... ...

you also have to remember that the official clarification of an epidemic is not thousands of cases.. oh no
1 surgery reporting 5 cases of measles within a 14 day time frame constitutes an epidemic...
statistically, they are saying there have been 1000 approx cases of measles in th uk this year out of those cases maybe 1 or 2 will have resulted in serious complications & death
however the figures for vaccine damage are around 1000 cases per year & that discounts any suspected to have caused autism to the actual figure is much much higher than that as the rules on vaccine damage compo claims are such that it cannot be legally claimed before the child has their 2nd birthday.. |

| Thursday 3.45pm, Radio 4, 'Street Science' devotes its 15 minutes to the MMR. Dr. David Elliman features in the programme. |

Seeing that Dr Elliman has been on SmithKline Beecham and Pasteur Merieux Merck Sharp & Dohme payroll, I can already predict what will be said in those 15 minutes.
Something along the lines of: -The MMR is safe -There is a currently a measles epidemic -Parents who refuse to allow their children to be vaccinated with the combined MMR are irresponsible, and that includes those who have chosen to vaccinate their children with the single vaccines.
Anyone willing to play a game of "Bingo"? Along these lines: www.bull****bingo.net/
Chose some key words such as -MMR safe -compulsory vaccination -experts agree -risks unfounded -worries not justified -study budgets -not influenced -pharmaceutical firms -well-being of children -our priority -utterly refute -government funding -alleged side-effects -scientific research -safe and effective -political vote-grabbing -worth preventing -nasty reaction -mumps component -no evidence -conflicts of interest(s) -irresponsible -herd immunity -selfish -scaremongering
and hear how many of these turn up during the programe. It would also be interesting if his words are similar to this interview: www.whale.to/v/elelrman.html
I won't have the time to listen to this programe. I know what is going to be said is already a foregone conclusion. |

Is this Dr. E the same one who was chopped to smithereens in the GMC case against Jayne Donegan? Turned out he didn't actually know very much about vaccines--of course it might be someone else.

| My son had the single measles vac at 10 months. Three weeks later his temp shot up and he went into convulsions. Of course the doctors all say it's not the vac's fault, but I beg to differ. |

| Hi i am mother to a 13 month old. After extensive reading and despite opposition from my local surgery and partner i have decided not to give my child mmr. I am considering the single jabs but my lo had a febrile convulsion 2 months ago and i'm worried she might be susceptable now. Has anyone been in a similar situation please? |
