I feel terribly sorry for Chris and Sarah being dragged through this disreputable farago, but I do not think the way they have been treated - or the way the BBC popped up when it was all over - will lead to greater trust in the authorities. By now the public have sense of weariness and disillusionment with everything government does, and this is going to look scarcely more credible than the jury at the Menezes inquest being instructed not bring back a verdict of unlawful killing. I believe they overplayed their hand.

Very well done Allison. Your writing made me feel I was there.
I wonder how much longer this country can get off with their lies and cover ups?

Another point I'd like to make that has since bowled me over;

The Coroner, Alan Crickmore with the sole decision into the findings of the death of Georgie Fisher is "a divorce lawyer".

He cited death by natural causes.

Was he really a suitable choice to be allocated such an important medical based decision? I think not.

The whole base of our "one proud" British Justice System has been warped beyond recognition.

Take this weeks headlines: (In no partucular order)

Baby P - How Social Services let him down.
George Fisher - Death after MMR ruled "natural"
Jean Charles de Menezes - family walk out after inquest verdict
Damien Green MP - arrested, Speaker didn't know no warrant, Home Sec
denies, constituents abandoned.

Of course this nation is going to find what ever we are told is "credible" particularly where it concerns fairness to children and families. Power is corrupted.

PS. I have no political affiliations - I am a member of my own "angry mum" party.

Parents: Baby Died After Vaccination

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,462405,00.html

Coroner, Parents Disagree on Vaccine's Role in Baby's Death
Friday, December 05, 2008

A coroner ruled Friday that a common childhood vaccination was not responsible for a baby's death, but the boy's parents disagree, the Guardian reported Friday.

Eighteen-month-old George Fisher died after doctors vaccinated him with the measles-mumps-rubella vaccine while he was sick, the baby’s parents told the coroner at an inquest this week.

Although the parents blame the vaccination, Coroner Alan Crickmore believes the boy died from "natural causes," the newspaper reported.

George was suffering from a febrile convulsion, which occurs in young children when their body temperature rapidly increases, when his parents took him to Overton Park Surgery in Cheltenham, England, to get the shot.

The Fishers believe the vaccine is "implicated" in their son's January 2006 death and that doctors should have warned them that a child suffering from a high fever should not receive the shot.

George died 10 days after being vaccinated.

The couple said they later learned that children who have suffered a convulsion are at a higher risk for having another one after getting the MMR shot. They believe the boy suffered a second convulsion after getting the vaccine.

But Crickmore said George's symptoms emerged too soon after receiving the vaccination to be related to it.

Although George had a 2 percent chance of suffering a convulsion after the shot, there's no evidence he suffered a second convulsion after getting the shot, Crickmore said.

Crickmore believes George died from a rare condition known as sudden unexpected death in childhood, due to an unknown disease.

I don't know about the UK, but here in Ontario, coroners need to be practising physicians. One would think that that should be at least a minimum requirement to be a coroner.

Jabs support group backs tragic toddler's parents

Friday, December 05, 2008, 11:10

The parents of an 18-month-old boy who died 10 days after having his MMR jab lost a “David and Goliath” battle against the establishment, a vaccines pressure group said last night.

Jabs (Justice, Awareness and Basic Support), which supports “vaccine-damaged” children, claimed baby George Fisher’s inquest found he died of natural causes because only “inadequate” data about the drug was available.

George was discovered dead in his cot in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, on January 19 2006 by his mother, Sarah Fisher, hours after he was heard “chatting away on the baby monitor”.

Mrs Fisher, 42, and husband Christopher, 43, still believe the vaccine is “implicated” in their son’s death as its temperature-raising effects on children who have previously suffered a fit, as George had, were not explained to them.

Yesterday Gloucestershire coroner Alan Crickmore decided, after listening to a series of expert witnesses, that George’s symptoms had emerged too soon after the Measles, Mumps and Rubella (MMR) jab to be related to it.

Although George had a 2% chance of suffering a convulsion after the jab, those were not known to be fatal and there was no evidence he had even had a second fit.

Instead county coroner Alan Crickmore found he died from a rare condition known as Sudden Unexpected Death in Childhood, due to an unascertained disease.

JABS spokeswoman Jackie Fletcher said after the verdict in Gloucester that the tests carried out before MMR was licensed were too limited and that surveillance of the drug’s safety was currently based on only a ’tiny’ sample.

She said: “The process was compromised because it was a David versus Goliath situation and David didn’t have a strong slingshot. The legal representation for the family was unable to match that of the vaccine manufacturer’s resources.

“I am surprised the DoH said there was no evidence of a seizure being linked with a child’s death following MMR as our Government’s Vaccine Damage Payment Unit has made a number of payments to families whose children have died following MMR including after seizures. Measles virus was found in the child’s lungs.

“The pre-licence trials were too short in duration and too few in numbers to show up the ’rare’ events. The vaccine surveillance system is inadequate in that only a tiny proportion of adverse reactions are put forward for investigation therefore making the safety data equally inadequate on which the DoH evidence was based.”

Department of Health guidelines say the jab should be given “with caution” but does not ban child sufferers of febrile convulsions – fever fits – from taking it and recommends temperature monitoring.

Fighting back tears, Mrs Fisher, a hotel receptionist standing outside court with her husband, a pipe-fitter, said: “I think it’s so wrong to put the death of a healthy little boy down to natural causes. There’s nothing natural about an 18-month-old boy dying of nothing, because that’s what it was – nothing.

“This has devastated our family all over again. Three years of work and reports and it’s just natural causes? I’ll never, ever understand that word.”

In a 13-page verdict the coroner said that George’s “loving and experienced” parents were not to blame in any way for the tragedy.
He ruled that just because the MMR jab and the death happened closely in time, there was nothing to show the jab on January 9 2006 caused the death 10 days later.

Mr Crickmore was convinced by the evidence of Infant Health Professor Peter Fleming, of Bristol University, who put forward Sudden Unexpected Death in Childhood as the cause of death.

Prof Fleming could not find a link to the MMR vaccine despite looking “extremely hard” because of George’s parents’ concerns.
Earlier in the three-day inquest, the coroner heard that George was born at a healthy 8lb 10oz, and came through his routine injections with no side-effects.

GP Annette Bugaighis confirmed that, four months before his jab, on September 25 2005, George fell ill after returning from a holiday in Spain.

After suffering a fit at the Overton Park surgery he was rushed to hospital, where it was found he had suffered febrile convulsion – a fit caused by a fever.

Both Dr Bugaighis and consultant paediatrician Alan Day, of Cheltenham General Hospital, agreed that George was safe to be given the vaccine on January 9 2006 - adding that he should be monitored for possible raised temperature.

In evidence, Mrs Fisher said her son was a “healthy and robust” child who had breast-fed for 11 months – longer than her other three children.

After his febrile illness he was given antibiotics and on the Wednesday before he died was “running around, playing football with his father”.

The night before he died he was “chatting away on the baby monitor”, she added.

She said: “He took his bottle of water and I put the quilt over him, stroked his head and said goodnight. I went to bed, heard him drink his water, then throw the bottle on the floor. I heard him shuffling around.”

At 8am his sister, Meg, who was sharing a room with him, called out to her.

She added: “I was surprised he was not awake. I tried to wake him but it was clear he was dead because of his colour and he was cold.”

Mr Fisher said: “If we had (been given a Patient Information Leaflet), we would have gone to hospital much quicker because of the information in that list. We would have been much more concerned than we actually were.”

The coroner said in his judgment that whether or not the parents were given advice on monitoring him had not affected the outcome, as they had done so anyway, as experienced parents.

Professor Elizabeth Miller, an immunisation expert for the Health Protection Agency said: “Fatal outcomes associated with MMR vaccination as a result of febrile convulsion have not, to my knowledge, been reported.”

Vaccine group disputes inquest finding

The parents of an 18-month-old boy who died 10 days after having his MMR jab lost a "David and Goliath" battle against the establishment, according to a vaccines pressure group.

Little does Alan Crickmore know, but it can take weeks and or months, if not more, to realize the damage(s) that various vaccines can cause.

I just submitted this comment to Age of Autism:-

I wonder if Mr Barton is the same Mr Barton as in this Private Eye story from 2002 (Private Eye is a British satirical journal) bearing in mind that modern Sanofi incorporates Aventis Pasteur:

Private Eye, 8th March 2002

MMR

HOMESPUN ADVICE?

'Whenever a newspaper reports on the latest development in the in the MMR
controversy, concerned mother and GP Dr Penelope Elphinstone seems to enter
the debate via the letters page.

'Since 1999 and in newspapers from the Observer to the Express, Sunday
Times, Guardian and Independent she has been expressing outrage that legal
aid has been granted to the many children said to have been damaged by the
triple jab.

'"This unsubstantiated health scare and the litigation are mutually
sustaining: they endanger children, enrich lawyers and impoverish the
health service," she declares. But then she would say that, wouldn't she?
The man who shares her north London home is one Anthony Barton, solicitor
and doctor who just happens to be advising Aventis Pasteur - one of the
defending pharmaceutical giants in the forthcoming MMR legal action'

http://www.whale.to/v/lettersmmr.html

This would appear to be the same good gentleman that I had an interesting exchange with on subject of legal aid in BMJ Rapid Responses in February 2005. Barton wrote:

'Legal aid is the oxygen of medical litigation; most cases are legally aided. It is available only to a limited population so it does not ensure access to justice - most negligence is probably uncompensated. Legal aid provides access to lawyers, who get paid win or lose. It provides incentives to give over-optimistic legal advice and to seek out expert opinions to sustain improbable cases. The success rate in clinical negligence is modest. In pharmaceutical litigation it is minimal. Scarce resources for patient care are diverted to lawyers' fees - all in the name of justice and funded by the public.

'Competing interests: Solicitor and doctor specialising in clinical negligence and pharmaceutical litigation'

To which I responded:

'Anthony Barton has an interesting declaration. Given his views it would not be surprising if he advised defendants more often than plaintiffs in these cases. But surely if the law is presently inadequate for protecting patients the natural question is how do you make it fairer, not how do you strengthen the arm of the already protected and powerful.

'What I wonder does Barton think should have happened in the Thalidomide case? Ordinary people do not seem to count for very much in this scheme. Ineffective though the present system may be the message "anything goes" is scarcely one I would recommend.'

There was, of course, no answer.

How can a Coroner listen to these scheming medical liars and totally ignore the part MMR played in George's death. This is very worrying because it means that the Pharmaceutical companies can continue to put as much toxins in the vaccines that they believe they can get away with. Crickmore the Coroner is playing the tyrant on behalf of the Government and the so called medical experts such as Miller beleive it is Ok to kill children because thats what Pharama affiliated Occultists are supposed to do. Increasing amounts of people now have a burning desire for justice.
