My son is now 12 but when he was 3 months old had his first DTP jab. Within minutes after he started having trouble breathing and a red rash began to appear all over his body. They quickly rushed him back into the Dr's room and gave him adrenalin and oxygen. He seemed to improve quickly once he'd had the adrenalin but still had to go to the hospital and spend the night. We then had to go back to the hospital to have his other jabs incase of another reaction - which there wasn't. He now has DLA at the medium rate and needs 1-1 help in school - he is diagnosed as Autistic and ADHD. Would this be enough to claim a vaccine damage payment?

I've no idea! Anyone else? I do know many have tried to claim via the vaccine damage payment unit and have failed. 900 families have succeeded, but that is just a fraction of actual claimants.
The DPT vaccine had mercury in it and caused lots of problems, but the authorities will deny culpability - especially where autism is included in the diagnosis. With half a million people in UK with autism - and rising daily, they don't want to vaccines to be associated with autism. I'm not very encouraging, but have a go!

I haven't checked lately but if you google "Vaccine Damage Payment Unit", that Unit used to be (still is?) in Preston, Lancashire. There used to be (still is?) a downloadable form (about ten pages) to start the ball rolling. Good luck .... but don't hold your breath.

A relative attempted to submit a claim but failed. I may have gone into details in one of my earlier posts a few years back.

Suffice to say I am amazed that 900 individuals have been successful - good on/for them and I am so pleased to hear, for example, that Jacquie has finally succeeded. Our experience is that it is very difficult to claim unless you have a recognised medical profession 'fighting' for your case.

In my relative's case - and I believe this remains the case - the medical professionals refuse to recognise and do not accept the opinion that the vaccine damaged his health. I have lost count of the number of times I have been scorned at for even mentioning vaccines and damaged health.

I am continuously told that his onset of ASD following the MMR vaccine is purely coincidential and I should shout up because I don't know what I'm talking about, I am scaremongering, a trouble maker and an interfering aunty etc...

In my own community, the mantra is 'vaccines do not cause permanent damage to health - fact'. A decade of having such comments made, at times even shouted at my face, and people like myself do finally shut up. However, I still don't trust the MMR vaccine and I believe I am not the only one bearing that distrust - a recent attendance on a course (described in another post) appears to support my belief, anecdotally at least.

Rachael - if my family's experience is anything to go by, the contents in your post would not be enough to receive a vaccine damage payment, but by all means, do try. Times may have changed and perhaps you have additional information to support your claim but as Elizabeth wrote, "don't hold your breath".

I did write a previous post but it has not been displayed. I hope I have not been struck off the forum.

Anyway, my point was based around this statement, taken from direct.gov:

What happens after you've sent off the claim form?
Once your claim has been received, the Vaccine Damage Payments Unit will get medical evidence from the doctors or hospitals involved in your treatment.
A claim will be successful if it's accepted that:
-your disablement was caused by vaccination
-the level of your disablement that can be directly attributed to the vaccination is at least 60 per cent
The result of the claim will be given to you in writing.

The problem is that "the doctors and/or hospitals involved" in a child's treatment will openly dispute the claim that the vaccine had anything to do with a child's disability, stating that it is merely coincidence.

Even when a child was healthy prior to vaccination and reaching all appropriate milestones, it does not count as 'evidence'. When a child nosedives health-wise within a month of having a vaccination, that again, is not considered as relavent evidence.

Many have found that unless there is a / are medical professional(s) to back you up, or you have medical training yourself, the chances of receiving compensation are very slim.

Only 900 individuals have been successful so far out of 30 million doses given, although the pro-vaccination group will use that figure as evidence that vaccines are very safe.

Still, you could always try but do not raise your hopes too soon. Apologies for the negativity, but after a decade, I have become very cynical.

Damage from aluminium containing vaccines is now being identified in children. It is now clear the medical authorities, government and string pullers know this and are now deliberately insuring that it continues.

Aluminum-hydroxide in vaccines causes serious health problems

By Tenna Merchent

There are three basic aluminum salts used in vaccines: aluminum hydroxide, aluminum phosphate and potassium-aluminum sulfate, or alum. The three forms are not interchangeable as they each have their own chemical properties.

A new disease has been identified, first in France, called macrophagic myofasciitis (MMF). The condition manifests with spread out muscle pain and chronic fatigue. One third of the patients develop an autoimmune disease, such as multiple sclerosis (MS) or amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS or Lou Gehrigís disease). Even if they donít have an obvious autoimmune disease, most of them are part of a subgroup called HLADRB1*01 that puts them at risk of developing polymyalgia rheumatica and rheumatoid arthritis.1

Doctors have identified that the aluminum-hydroxide in the vaccines stays at the site of the injection for years. The whole time it is there, it is stimulating an immune response. Which is exactly why the vaccine makers include it in the vaccine, so that the immune system will react more strongly to the virus or toxoid. But switching the immune system on without turning it off is not good for the body. This appears to be what causes the chronic fatigue seen in MMF.2

In studies they were able to reproduce the MMF lesions in rats, and concluded that they were caused by the aluminum-hydroxide in the vaccines, and the ongoing local immune reaction.3 The vaccines in question for this particular study were hepatitis B, hepatitis A and tetanus.

The reason MMF was first discovered in France is because when they do a muscle biopsy, they do it on the deltoid muscle of the arm, where the vaccines are injected. In the United States, biopsies are done on the calf.

In another study of 92 MMF patients, eight had a demyelinating central nervous system disorder. The myelin sheath is the protective covering that surrounds and insulates nerves. When myelin is damaged, the nerves eventually become damaged, leading to disrupted transmission of signals within the nervous system.4 The MS diagnosis was definite in five out of seven cases, and probable in two out of seven.5 Based on the association with MMF and MS disorders they suggested that deltoid muscle biopsies be done in cases of MS to look for MMF.

MMF has now been identified in children, and was characterized by motor delay, hypotonia (diminished muscle tone), and failure to thrive. They concluded that MMF should be considered in the evaluation of children with failure to thrive, diminished muscle tone, and muscle weakness.6

Many believe the anthrax vaccine is the cause of Gulf War illness (GWI). ALS and other neurological disorders are associated with some cases of GWI. There was a study done that looked at the effect aluminum-hydroxide and squalene had on GWI, both being adjuvants in the anthrax vaccine. Adjuvants are agents that increase a specific immune response to an antigen.

They injected young male mice with either aluminum hydroxide or squalene, or a combination of aluminum-hydroxide and squalene. They performed motor and cognitive-behavioral tests on the mice when they were alive, and after sacrifice they examined central nervous system tissues for evidence of inflammation and cell death.

The mice that received the aluminum showed motor deficits that were seen by decreased strength. The also found apoptotic neurons, which means suicidal neurons, or neurons that are destroying themselves (225%), and neuron loss (35%) in the lumbar spinal cord.7

Aluminum hydroxide is an adjuvant used in the following vaccines: DTaP, BioThrax, DPT, Engerix-B, Gardasil, Havrix, LYMErix, Prevnar, Rabies Vaccine Adsorbed, Recombivax, and Tripedia.

So what can we conclude from all of this? Science has proven that the following conditions may all be caused by the aluminum-hydroxide in vaccines: Chronic fatigue, Multiple sclerosis , Lou Gehrigís disease, Demyelinating central nervous system disorders, Plymyalgia rheumatica and rheumatoid arthritis, Motor delay, Hypotonia or diminished muscle tone, Failure to thrive, Apoptic neurons, which are self-destructing neurons in the lumbar spinal cord, Neuron loss in the lumbar spinal cord.

Iíve known for over four years now that aluminum was bad for the body, but as usual, I just didnít know how bad it is. However, there is plenty of scientific evidence, hidden in plain sight, proving the pervasiveness and toxic nature of aluminum in our world today. ~
