Hi Karen, None of my teens and young adult sons have had the Men C vaccines. They're fine, even though they occasionally eat junk food, too. We try to eat well at home, and many of them take various vitamin and mineral supplements. The daughter of one of my cousins had the Men C vaccine when she was about 11-12 years old, while she still had an ear infection. A day or two after the vaccine, the poor girl ended up in the hospital for six weeks, with a massive ear infection, and a blood clot behind her ear (or was it eye?), and on a morphine drip for the pain. I was surprised to hear this, because my kids and I had spent some time with her and her brother, near the end of the summer break, playing tennis one day. Even with her minor ear infection at the time, she looked healthy and was in good spirits. I saw her again, a few weeks later, when she was in the hospital, and could not believe the condition she was in. She could not even straighten her neck and she was in severe pain, and her parents had to help her with practically everything. Even after she returned home, around Thanksgiving, she required daily nurse visits, and could not return to school until January of the next year. Her doctors said that she did not have meningitis, even though she had all the symptoms. I cannot help but believe that the vaccine she received, caused to her ear infection to get much worse, very quickly. All the best with your decision. Aasa |

| Hi Karen, My eldest son is the same as yours and sounds very similar to yours. I have another son who is 12. Both of them had the men c vaccine when they were toddlers, as well as the diptheria/tetanus/whooping cough vaccine. Neither of them had any adverse reactions. After the public furore surrounding Dr Andrew Wakefield's claims that the MMR vaccine was linked to autism/bowel disease we opted for the single measles/mumps vaccines for both our children. Again, neither had any adverse reactions. However, if if knew now what I new then I doubt I would have had my sons vaccinated at all. I have written about it in a book I have self-published on Amazon Kindle called "My Journey Back to Health - How I survived mercury poisoning from amalgam fillings naturally without harmful drugs" by Alice Hill. I was fortunate to find holistic doctors who were prepared to tell me the truth about mercury in vaccines, as well as amalgam fillings, which can be passed on to babies whilst pregnant and breast feeding. I hope this helps. |
