Chronic illness following Hepatitis B vaccination
NOTE: I know this looks very long winded but please read to the end because I’m starting an e-petition and need signatures.
http://epetitions.direct.gov.uk/petitions/18011
Whilst working as a Mental Health Act Co-ordinator for private psychiatric hospital I was required to have Hepatitis B vaccination to continue with my work. In 2009 I received two of the three jabs required, following the second jab my health proceeded to deteriorate, experiencing the following symptoms;
• Chronic fatigue • Muscle twitching (visual & non-visual) • Cognitive disturbance • Joint/muscle pain • Muscle fatigue • Stiffness • Sleep disturbance • Tremors in my lower limbs (buzzing sensation)
My symptoms became so chronic that I consulted with my doctor who arranged a series of tests to be carried out. I was assessed over a 4 month period and eventually diagnosed with ME. I was unable to work full time and eventually left my job because of illness.
Over the last two years my symptoms have become worse and because of the extent of the visual muscle twitching/weakness/fatigue I suffer I was referred to a consultant at the National Hospital of Neurology in London. I had a series of electrical tests conducted on my muscles, a lumber puncture and a full head and spine MRI. The tests revealed three lesions on my brain. During the follow up appointment my consultant explained that he was not concerned with the lesions as they are very small and most probably age related (39 years old). Given my continuing illness and persistent symptoms the consultant is now trying me on anti convulsant medication (Gabapentin) to see if it stops the muscle twitching. If it does not then he will take a muscle biopsy to test for muscle disease.
I never received the third jab in the series because it has always been by belief that the vaccine caused my illness. I was perfectly well prior to the vaccination and it would appear I am not alone in this experience. Conducting research on the internet has revealed thousands of people who also believe they have had an adverse reaction to the Hep B vaccine and numerous medical reports researching the adverse side affects.
In July 2009 a Westminster Hall Debate was held in relation to ‘adult workers damaged by the Hepatitis B vaccine’. Ian Stewart (the now ‘former’ labour MP) wanted to discuss the adverse reactions people were experiencing and how the Government should help these people. Well, it looks like to date, they’ve done nothing, because from what I can work out research says that the vaccination doesn’t cause the illnesses, but could possibly speed up the onset of dormant conditions. Either way, it makes you ill! I’ve put the link to the debate for anyone who is interested in reading it.
http://www.theyworkforyou.com/whall/?id=2009-07-08b.307.0
I’d like to share with you some information I found about the Hep B vaccination on the National Vaccine Information Centre (NVIC) website. There is a lot to read, but if this issue affects you or someone you know, it is seriously interesting!
http://www.nvic.org/nvic-archives/newsletter/untoldstory.aspx
The seriousness of my condition means I am only able to work a limited amount of hours per week. I am a single woman living on her own with a mortgage and bills to pay. Prior to the vaccination I had a great job with a good salary, now things are very, very different.
If you are in the same position as me and believe that you have suffered an adverse reaction to the vaccine, you must inform The Medicines & Healthcare Regulatory Agency (MHRA) about it. You can go onto their website and raise a ‘Yellow Card’. Link below.

Finally, if you feel passionately about this subject, please sign my e-petition and help all victims get the help they need and deserve. Once again, the link is below. Thank you for listening.

Hi Adelea I don't know how I didn't see your post before. I hope you are better. My fully fit 24 year old son developed intermittent slurred speech on the third day following his first Hep B shot (he was due to be posted to Afghanistan). Despite being investigated because they initially couldn't find anything wrong, they gave him the second dose one week later (army accelerated schedule). He continued to develop serious psychological symptoms and small seizures that were not recognised. Within three weeks he was in status epilepticus and despite intensive care for eight weeks, they could find no cause and could not stop the seizures. He died following ITU complications on 24th may 2008. When we got the medical records we saw that he had had the Hep B vaccinations but none of the many medics who saw him would accept that it was more than a coincidence. An inquest 17 months later found the cause of death not known. We tried hard to have the vaccination implicated (the medical experts said highly unlikely but could never be 100% sure) but the Coroner said it would have to be more than a 50% probability. Needless to say, I am convinced it was caused by the vaccination and the army have apparently changed their policy of always using the acceclerated schedule and recommend the day 1, day 28 and six months one now (due to our complaint to them). Have you many signatories to the petition?

Hi Jane,
Sorry for not replying sooner, reason being, I posted this a while back and wasn't getting any replies so I got a little disheartened with it all. I'm sure you know what that feels like.
Firstly, can I say how sorry I was to hear about the loss of your son. What awful circumstances and very tragic. I can only imagine how you must feel.
I've been ill for a couple of years now and it has been a emotional rollercoaster. I've been diagnosed with an illness (which I don't believe I have), tried numerous treatments, therapies and medications, none of which work. I've seen specialist consultants and been diagnosed with different conditions by them but still no one knows how to help me. I've got to the stage now where, eventhough I feel ill every day, I just get on with my life as best as I can and try to ignor the pains, symptoms and fatigue. My family aren't happy with my approach because they see how it's all affecting me but I really don't know what else to do.
All of my time is now taken up working as a carer at a residential home for the elderly (which I absolutely love). The wages are shocking, it's really physical work and I have to do a lot of hours to try and get close paying all of my monthly bills. In all honesty, at the moment I really don't have the time or energy to be a crusader. I need 100,000 signatures on the petition for it to be discussed in parliament and presently have 39!
I'm sure all the other people who have suffered as a result of having the Hep B jab and started some sort of campagne have hit the same brick walls as I have and consequently given up.
I just don't know what to do anymore.
If you don't mind me asking, how are things in your life since the loss of your son? Are you campagning?
Kind regards
Adele |

I'm so sorry both, that no one replied to your messages. It's very distressing to hear about the problems you have been left with Adelea. My heart goes out to you Jane. The loss of a son is something that must be hard to bear.
I have signed the petition and posted it on Facebook. Adverse reactions to the Hep B vaccine was a hot topic a while back and there was a lady called Annie Savage who had set up a support group. I see her name on this page - see link below. There may be other threads on that page, which can offer advice. I hope so. Blessings to you both.

Why is GMO Hepatitis B Vaccine Given to Newborn Babies?
By Barbara H. Peterson | Farm Wars | May 11, 2012
In the United States, the Hepatitis B (Hep B) vaccine is scheduled to be given to babies at birth. Since babies do not normally go out and indulge themselves in high risk behavior such as tattooing, body piercing, IV drug use, sharing needles with others, having sex with multiple partners, or engaging in any high risk activity other than being born in a hospital, and “the duration of protection after hepatitis B vaccination of infants is unknown,” why give them the shot?
Here is the CDC vaccination schedule, with the Hep B vaccine to be given at birth and several boosters thereafter:

Hello there everyone.
i am just an ordinary guy, young (26), working an ordinary job, exercising every day, semi active social life etc...
now, i don't actually know if what i have wrong with me is because of the Hepatitis B vaccination or not, however the symptoms you've listed in particular the chronic fatigue, cognitive disturbance and how you've said its been continuing to deteriorate over time caught my interest.
i started working in a hospital about 6 years ago, and per health regulations i must be vaccinated against certain things, Hep B being one of them. although i can remember having the shakes after getting the jabs, i don't remember anything like the severity of what your describing, i do however remember having cold symptoms for 3 months after. when my symptoms were over, i felt very run down and tired all the time. i figured i had been out of it for 3 months and needed to get back into shape.
during the next six months or so i deteriorated further with all the symptoms you've listed and since then i have continued to deteriorate slowly. origonally i thought i had cought a bug from one of the guys who went overseas and brought something back, or counght something from one of the instruments we occasionally scratch ourselves with. but as i continued to deteriorate and all bloodtests came back normal
i have seen 6 different doctors, 2 specialist GP's to no avail. they don't seem to be particularly interested unless you have a physical symptom they can identify. i am now reluctant to go see anymore doctors because i just can't handle any more BS from them. one doctor had such an amazing capability to listen to what i was saying he actually wanted to give me an anti depressant due to one of my answeres to his questions, me having been depressed in my very early teen years. now had he actually been listening to me he would have realised that was 10 or more years ago.... really boosted my trust in medicine there... a suitable example would be you going to a doctor with a broken leg and him telling you, you have a muscle strain, nerve damage, old injury or some such without bothering to do an X-ray to actually see that the leg isn't broken...so as you can imagine, doctors and me in one room will probably come to blows..
now, i don't know if what i have was actually caused by my Hep B vaccination or something else, but the timeframe matches up. although i have had multiple hep B vaccinations, i have never been given the third shot, no idea why. probably getting up to 4 sets of the first 2 shots over the course of my life....again, no idea why.
now days my workload is suffering so i am not sure what's going to happen there. may have to cut back hours(already cutting back hours), may have to quit my job. my fatigue has got me from my normal 130k running a week to maybe 200meters before i get so tired i am liable to walk into traffic and not notice. most of the tiime i am dragging myself around putting most of my concentraition into not collapsing.
i have gained no actual REST from sleep for about 6 years, so i am totally fried all the time.
the tremors are not severe, but when typing/gaming it is.. unbelievable. very noticable when stressed.
the joint and muscle pain, particularly the constant nonstop headaches i combat by taking a compound that opens all the blood vessels in my body. a temporary fix at best, and losing effectiveness. (USPLABS Jack3D) found totally by accident, damn near instant migraine cure.
and the cognitive disturbance... i would be very interested to know what this is like for you since i can only go by what's happening with me. my memory is in pieces so i can't remember how it started, and since i get no real sleep, no rest, and all this combined adds up to not only very high levels of stress but also the odd internal manic/addled episode leaving me so fatigued i collapse. at the moment i don't really know how to explain it, like having my brain on, but the interaction/output part concentrating more on how much pain i am in and how to use as little energy as possible that there's nothing left for actually interacting at all. going for a run drains so much energy from me all my reflexes are slow, hand eye co-ordination are off. allertness nonexistant. dizziness and headache. slurred speech. to add insult to injury, words i could spell before, totally gone from my mind, writing words from one piece of paper to another, even if they are right next to each other, i see a word, i think the word, i write another word or a variation/misshapen version of the word i was looking at, starting to think i am going to have to re-learn english if i ever get better. if i get really worn out, not only do i have to actually "think" of the sentence word for word before i say it and how to pronounce it, but if someone says my name, i actually have to "think" of what my name is. as you can imagine this sparks a rather extreme level of stress and anger that uses up even more energy and -pop- everything goes sideways and i wake up 6to12 hours later where ever i was when i hit the floor. not fun being aware of your mind turning to cottage cheese.
again, this could also be exacerbated/caused by the lack of actual sleep and no rest for years and years, like i said, i honestly don't know if what i have is like your Hep B vaccination problems or if i am literally dying in slow motion from something else.
i am sure i could go into more detail, but its late and i am burnt out and this ibuprofen is giving me no help at all.
two things i really wanted to ask were
1) is there a test (like a specific blood test) that will identify the problem as being caused by the Hep B vaccination?. or identify something i should have that i don't i.e as being caused by the vaccination.
2)i am sure i had a second question, but thinking and typing the first has erased most of my mind (thus part of the problem right there). my typing has already started to get muddled and i am hitting the wrong keys or hitting them in the wrong order so i know i have reached my limit for the day when i can't even type anymore (thank you microsoft spell check).
thankyou for putting up with my misshapen block of i assume were marginally coherent thoughts.

I would like to add something to this post that I feel could be very important.
We have bought the new book "While Science Sleeps" by Professor Woodrowe Monte ferom Arizona University. I think it is probably the most important health book I will ever read.
He took the FDA to supreme court 30 yrs ago because he was so concerned about aspartame getting in food.
Have a look at the graphs - esp on autism and lupus and teen suicides etc.
I think formaldehyde has been the trigger for my daughters diagnosis of MS. It is now becoming very clear that many of the badly allergic people who ring me on the electrosensitivity helpline are very likely poisoned by methanol - which turns to formaldehyde in the body and not formic acid as most of the world believe.
Apparently, embalmers are needing to use less formladehyde because the bodies now have so much!
We dont consume aspartame but my daughter used to have lots of Diet Coke (unbeknown to me) and also smoked - both high in methanol. We think the new build at her work may have been heavy exposure as she sleeps overnight and the move co-incided with when her symptoms started.
Methanol is also high in tins and jars of fruit and veg (esp tomatoes and blackcurrants) and smoked fish and meat - Scotland I believe having highest MS in the world!
I think static electricity and man made fibres may also be involved as attracts formaldehyde.
And the icing on the cake is that I think formaldehyde is/was in Hep B vaccine that I have always believed triggered my chronic fatigue / fibro symptoms at around the time my daugher was born! (1990)
I had actually just concieved her when I had the first injection.
Interesting!
Amazon is out of stock & only Kindle available but chapter 9 on MS is on his site. I am trying to get them to ship more books over here - we need them!

Hello
My husband is very ill after receiving a series of Hep B injections, I was wondering if there is any one on this forum who could help or give us any advice. He has been unable to work for over a year now and we seem to be going from one consultant to another and no one is prepared to support what we feel has caused his illness. Before the injections he was perfectly fit and well.
I would be really grateful for any advice please. |

Hi Janedd
I'm so sorry to hear about your husband's ill health following Hepatitis B vaccinations. I should like to speak with you in detail about this if you would be happy to do so.
I can be contacted on the Jabs telephone line: 01942 713565 or if you would prefer to email me privately on jackie@jabs.org.uk I will provide further information in the hope that it will help.
Meanwhile, here is one of the Hep B product sheets which refers to serious adverse reactions that have been reported following administration:
http://www.merck.com/product/usa/pi_circulars/r/recombivax_hb/recombivax_pi.pdf
The UK has a Vaccine Damage Payment Scheme, however, the Hep B vaccines are not included on the list for vaccine damage assessment. They obviously should be.
https://www.gov.uk/vaccine-damage-payment/eligibility
If anyone in the UK has the time and energy to contact their MP to call for change to the eligibility criteria it would be an invaluable effort. Jabs has been campaigning to change the rules but we need support. The families of vaccine damaged individuals, children and adults, need the support to bring about some element of fairness.
Currently people are not usually informed they are taking any real risk with their own or their children's health and when vaccine damage does occur the person or family are left to try and resolve it themselves. In the case of some professions you either accept the vaccines or you cannot work.
Anyone who accepts a vaccination could be left in this position so it is in everybody's interest to improve the system. If you can help please do so.
Best wishes
Jackie
