The JABS forum is provided for general information only, and should NOT be treated as a substitute for the medical advice of your own doctor or any other healthcare professional.
JABS does not accept any liability whatsoever for: (a) any material published on this forum, or (b) any person's reliance upon any material published in this forum.

This forum was started in order to share information and promote awareness and understanding about childhood immunisations, offering basic support to any parent whose child has a health problem after vaccination.
Many people think that there is a huge organisation behind this, or that there are secretaries and full-time administrators and others involved. There are not. We're not financed properly by anyone, so we have to fit this in with our day jobs and parental responsibilities. I say this not for sympathy but to explain why it sometimes takes us a day or so to respond to questions. Please be patient.
JABS Forum Guidelines:
The guidelines outline what is deemed unacceptable and it is important to read them over carefully. Reading and posting messages to the JABS forum constitutes acceptance of these guidelines.
The organisers hope the forum remains a safe and welcoming place for everyone who participates. All contributions to the forum are shown in good faith and are the opinion of the contributors, not the organisers.
We have no rules requiring or not requiring names, etc. I think that names are preferable to non-names but I can respect that some people don't want to share that much information.
On the subject of privacy, the forum software does not allow anyone but us to see your email address. Spammers can't get your email unless you type it in one of your posts. Please don't do that.
We are happy for members to add web links to their postings for information purposes for other readers.
We are reasonably tolerant of the "must-have-the-last-word" contests that break out on forums like this from time to time, but like many of you we will get tired of them, and such will tend to be deleted without reference to the protagonists.
Discussion on the forum that breaks these guidelines may be removed and we reserve the right to suspend or ban members who contravene these guidelines.
* Do not post a comment that is a negative remark about another member. Personal insults are strictly not allowed.
* Defamatory comments are not allowed.

The use of this forum is a privilege and not a right. Breaking these guidelines, which includes failing to respect the spirit and tone of the site or postings/emails which demand a disproportionate amount of time by the moderator, may result in a suspension or, in extreme cases, a permanent ban.
I hope this forum can continue for many years. Thanks to one and all for your concern, support, understanding and participation.
You do have a direct line to me if anything really worries you here: please use it with restraint! I'm Jackie Fletcher, and I can be reached at jackie@jabs.org.uk.
NOTHING ON THE JABS FORUM SHOULD BE TAKEN TO BE MEDICAL ADVICE. VACCINATION DECISIONS SHOULD BE MADE ONLY AFTER PROPER MEDICAL CONSULTATION WITH YOUR MEDICAL ADVISOR.

Hi Everyone, It'll take me a while to get used to how this all works, its been a few weeks sonce i was last visiting, congrats jackie and all who did all this work. My wee boy will be two at christmas and i'm still breastfeeing, he has lots of allergies, which i feel bad about, but i must have the world record for the amount of allergies i have myself. The main thing is i'm glad he never got any jabs now, there's so much sickness around me from kids who got theirs, gives me more courage and strength to know i made the right decision. |

Hi to Jackie and all others behind 'awareness' and supporting families that experience adverse events following any vaccine.
Just dropped in, to catch up with some of the MMR vaccine news.
For those that don't know me. I are a parent too that has experienced adverse vaccine events. Our son within a hour of having a single measles vaccine in NZ/ 1987, went into a coma state for 19 hours. Diagnoses 'organic brain syndrome due to a measles vaccine encephalopathy'. (sudden disturbance of brain functions). It was a sudden welcome to the world of disabilities, with ACC in NZ accepting a vaccine medical misadventure claim. 20 yrs on, with much therapy, ours sons just left home(2 WEEKS AGO)= out flatting and able to hold down a job.
My only advise to people wondering about vaccinating is ask questions, read as much as you can, and go with your gut feelings.

I am just researching this forum and figuring out how to get around. that's how I found your post.
How sad that your son and the whole family had to go through that.
I advice as many people as I can to first research the issue before injecting. Vaccine is not emergency medicine. You can always do it but you can never reverse it.
Hopefully more people will come to the realization that each child is an individual and what works for some may be damaging to others. Our doctors will never see it that way, so it has to be up to the parents to decide what is best for their own child. |
